The Music Icon Embraces a Hell Version of Her Own Identity in Satirical Film Preview

Charli XCX is preparing for a substantial cinematic onslaught in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.

In the film, Charli portrays what she calls as a hell version of her public image.

It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever encountered, the performer stated.

She elaborated in a conversation: It’s far from a live performance documentary, yet the concept stemmed from the expectation to produce one.

An Early Look into The Moment

The debut trailer, released on recently, combines real clips from her live performances with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who explained that the story revolves around a scenario where the singer made entirely different choices throughout the marketing of her chart-topping release Brat.

A Hectic Film Calendar

The mockumentary is only one of many forthcoming movie projects for the musician, who recently appeared in three cinematic festival entries recently.

The following year will also see Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in terror reimagining Faces of Death.

She recently joined to star in the actress’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my cinematic path, Charli expressed. I’m highly enthusiastic currently in this area, and I only ever choose to take on things that inspire me.

Next February will also see the debut of the director’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will include new music from the artist.

Additionally, she will create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, planned for launch next year.

The mockumentary is set to premiere on January 30.
