Super Mario Galaxy Film Teaser Arrives, Unveiling New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination shared the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
Following up on the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Space-Faring Quest Drawing from Classic Games
Similar to the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will venture away from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who seemingly wields metal-based powers. Interestingly, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also contains hints to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Returns and Expands
The movie will feature once again of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
Mario's Major Moment
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 promises to be a significant year for Mario and his companions.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for that year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
