In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Performance Wins Contest

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes left.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.
